Fleet Mechanic
Position: Fleet Mechanic
Reports To: Fleet Maintenance Manager

Overall Function
Under direct supervision, a Fleet Mechanic performs scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for a fleet of diesel and gasoline industrial trucks and other company vehicles and equipment. The work is accomplished by:
- Working with the highest regard for personal safety and the safety of others
- Assuming full ownership of position function, with understanding of role in relation to the success of Solideal Service
- Providing valued input and observations for customer service and business operational improvement
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on fleet trucks and vehicles for an assigned geographical grouping of Solideal Service Centers covering multiple states
Fill out all necessary documents
Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
Maintain and repair fleet equipment
Performs related duties as required
Required Skills
High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
Technical or Vocational education in areas of diesel mechanics and truck maintenance preferred
Experience working in a motor transportation shop preferred
Experience working on medium to heavy trucks preferred
Working knowledge of fluid mechanics and hydraulics preferred
Working knowledge of automotive maintenance and mechanical concepts
Ability to drive standard/manual transmission
Exhibit strong attention to detail, initiative, critical thinking, and leadership skills
Ability to effectively communicate with customers on a professional level
Must be punctual and reliable
Demonstrate ability to work independently and accurately follow specific, technical instructions
Demonstrate excellent time management skills
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must possess a good motor vehicle driving record
