THE CHALLENGE

 

Responsible for Create weekly production schedule to achieve set service level and inventory targets by optimizing change overs within the define plant set-up. Timely communicate plans to upstream processes and identify the gaps between schedule vs. actual production to propose countermeasures and follow-up.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to create weekly production schedule of the plant based on actual orders, inventory position and Research & Development center inputs within  the defined plant set-up by respecting to priorities (backorder age) and communicate relevant parties.
  • Monitor production backorders, root cause analyze and propose counter measures & escalate to next level if there is a critical issue.
  • Responsible to manage change overs referring the instructions given by the plant IE division.
  • Confirm adequate utilization of each product line during monthly & weekly schedule preparation and evaluate capacity constraints together IE
  • Coordinate with relevant parties to assure the schedules for fulfillment of equipment’s, tools, cleaning and maintenance.
  • Maintain defined semi-finished goods (SFG) inventory levels / WIP supermarket levels required to continue a smooth manufacturing process.
  • Responsible to check & confirm product master data updated in system (SAP) in order to avoid scheduling errors.
  • Guide & develop the scheduling team members and material handlers to achieve the set KPIs.
  • Responsible  for communicate priorities and follow-up the progress of mold/tool  repairing/ modification  in the plant / central engineering work shop
  • Communicate weekly material   requirement to relevant parties and ensure material availability for production.
  • Review previous week production schedule vs. actual and propose appropriate countermeasures and escalate to plant management.
  • Capability to handle development projects together given set of members and lead

 

Candidate Profile

 

  • Degree in the relevant field from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ of relevant experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Sinhala languages.
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office package including Microsoft excel.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
